Veterans Day: The Heroes With Us.

I was watching a recent video presentation about a young lady who called herself the National Anthem Girl, and how she had gone around the country singing the National Anthem in every state. She came across so many patriotic Americans and she stated that the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day is that with Memorial Day we remember those who served and is no longer living whereas with Veterans Day those who served are still with us.

If you would ask the average person they are likely to tell you that they’d like to have their flowers while they are still able to smell them. That is why we do Veterans Day so that those who served can still smell and enjoy their flowers. Yes, there will be a time when every veteran will be memorialized, but in the meantime in between time we are blessed to know that there are individuals that had decided to put themselves in harm’s way for you and your freedom. Therefore, we show our appreciation to them.

SERVING IN THE MILITARY

Whether it was in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard or in the reserves, each and every one both male and female, that signed up and took the oath was pledging to both God and Country that they were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice if called upon.

THEIR SACRIFICES WERE REAL

Many of them did make that sacrifice. Some came back home if not physically broken they were mentally and emotionally broken. Some pieces cannot be put back together as it was.

Some gave up their freedoms so that you could have your freedom. There were women and minorities who served even though they knew that some viewed them with less respect within their own country.

AND THEY DID IT BECAUSE…

YOU …were worth it!

TO THOSE WHO SERVED AND ARE SERVING…
